Overview

Finvest is a hackathon project that earned our team, Rudra, the Track Winners title at DevHack 5.0, held at IIT Dharwad. It is designed to help underserved communities access mainstream financial tools through education, engagement, and collaborative savings. Finvest combines financial education, real-time news, and innovative savings mechanisms to empower users in making informed financial decisions and building a secure financial future.

Tech Stack

Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Solidity, JavaScript, Python, PostgreSQL, Twilio, Supabase.

Key Features

• Financial Education: Informative blogs covering personal finance, investment strategies, and economic insights.
• Collaborative Savings (POT): A unique savings pool feature where users contribute to a shared pot and receive a large sum at a scheduled time, ideal for making significant purchases or investments.
• Trending Financial News: Real-time updates on market trends, both in India and globally, to keep users informed.
• Beginner’s Finance Section: A dedicated space for users new to finance, offering easy-to-understand resources on the basics of personal finance.

My friends and I took part in the intense 36-hour hackathon at IIT Dharwad, which turned out to be an incredibly rewarding experience. We learned a lot, tackled significant challenges, and even got to enjoy the excellent cafeteria.
